At the request of Heartwood Properties owner, Carl Myers, we designed a whole-house audio/video and automation system prior to the construction of the house. Carl came to us looking for a company that could install a complete structured wiring system, whole-house audio system, camera and security systems, and, most importantly, integrate all of these systems into local in-wall touchscreens.
As a forward-looking, Earth-friendly company, Heartwood understands the importance of technology in todays "Green" houses. Carl was looking for a company that could compliment his Earth-friendly house by automating and controlling lighting and HVAC controls via a smart system. We were able to use products from companies such as Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), Simply Automated and Russound to integrate audio, lighting, security and HVAC controls into a centralized control system that automates processes like Arming/Disarming the security system, turning lights on and off based on time-of-day or events, turning off audio zones when the house is unoccupied, and adjusting thermostats based on occupancy, schedules or climate.
White Provision Condominiums (Gay Construction)
Systems Installed: - Multi-Door Access Control - Guest Call Box
Atlanta Digital Homes, in cooperation with Twist Technologies, installed a 7-door access control system for the residents of White Provision Condominiums. The access control system includes card readers, and a Guest Call Box for control of the doors using door strikes and Magnetic locking systems. A card reader was also installed at the sixth floor Pool Door to control access out of the building onto the resident pool deck. This type of control is required by building code where there is public access to a pool.
Systems Installed: - Russound - Denon Receivers - Mordaunt-Short Speakers - Induction Dynamics Invisible Speakers - OmniMount Rack and TV Mounts - Digimerge - GE Cameras - LG HDTVs - Universal Remote Control remotes
Atlanta Digital Homes was asked to come in after another integrator to finish up this job. The company had pre-wired the house and installed a few TV mounts, our job was to finish the audio system, the camera and DVR system, and finish hanging the TVs.
Next up is to finish off the basement and Home Theater.
This was a completely finished room that had to be retrofitted with lighting, speakers and an entertainment cabinet.
To accomplish this, the speaker wires had to be run under the carpet and around the edges of the room. The sconces had to be wired to the electrical outlets located directly beneath them, and controlled by UPB dimming modules. A Universal Switch was installed by the entry door to control the lights in the room, including dimming and scene control.
The cabinetry was custom-built to fit the TV and room.
Systems Installed: - HP Plasma HDTV - Denon Receivers - ComCast CATV Receiver - Universal Remote Control remote - OmniMount Articulating Arm
While this is not a terribly difficult or large project, it is still a very nice effect. The TV seems to "float" inside the Armoir in the Master Bedroom of this house in Dunwoody.
You can see how we actually had to mount the Articulating Arm to the wall through the back of the Armoir.
